OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18)

A ball is Out of Bounds:

Beyond any white stakes or course boundary.
Over the access road to the rear of the 9th Green defined by white stakes.
On the Car Park, Clubhouse surrounds and on the Practice Putting Green defined by White Stakes.
In or over the Irrigation Reservoir to the left of the 4th hole defined by White Stakes

PENALTY AREA (Rule 17)

Water hazards are indicated by yellow stakes. Lateral water hazards by red stakes.
Dropping Zone 8th Hole.
A ball entering the Lateral water hazard to the rear of the 8th Green and between the blue stakes MUST be dropped in the dropping zone to the front right of the green under penalty.

STONES IN BUNKERS

Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. Rule 15-2 applies.

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS & PATHS

Telegraph poles, all paths and and the wooden fence adjacent to the 18th green are classed as immovable obstructions. Rule 16-1b applies.

FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS (Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Green)

If a ball lies off the putting green, but not in a hazard and is within two club lengths of a fixed sprinkler head, which itself is within two club lengths of the green and intervenes with the line of play, relief may be taken in accordance with Rule 16-1b.

OVERHEAD POWER LINES

If a ball strikes overhead power cables the player MUST disregard that stroke, abandon the ball and play another ball, without penalty, as near as possible to the spot from which the original ball was played.

NO PLAY ZONE (Play Prohibited)

Any area defined by blue stakes are NO PLAY ZONES. If a player’s ball lies in such an area, or if such an area interferes with stance or within the area of intended swing, relief MUST be taken without penalty in accordance with Rule 16-1b.

PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES (identified by blue stakes)

If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with Rule 16.2b. The ball may be cleaned when so lifted.

AERATION HOLES

On a putting green, a ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be placed at the nearest spot not nearer the hole that avoids the situation.

ANY GREENKEEPERS WORKINGS

Relief may be taken in accordance with rule 16-2.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES NOT COVERED BY RULES OF GOLF

Match Play – Loss of Hole.
Stroke Play – Two Strokes.

Additional Club Rules

FOOTWEAR

Golf shoes must be worn on the course. They are not permitted in the Clubhouse other than in the locker rooms.
Training shoes are not permitted on the course.

SOCKS

When wearing shorts gentlemen must wear either plain coloured ankle socks.

SHIRTS

All members must wear shirts with collars or polo necks at all times.
Only shirts specifically designed for the purpose may be worn outside shorts, trousers or skirts.
Gentlemen’s shirts without sleeves or ladies abbreviated sun tops are not allowed on the course or in the Clubhouse.
Shirts must not display inappropriate motifs.

SWEATERS

V-neck or crew-neck sweaters are allowed.

SHORTS

Only tailored shorts may be worn on the course or in the Clubhouse.
Abbreviated, athletic or boxer type shorts are not allowed on the course or in the Clubhouse.

TROUSERS

Blue denim jeans, track or shell suits bottoms are not permitted on the course, Blue denim jeans are permitted in the Clubhouse.
The wearing of caps back to front is not allowed.

HATS & VISORS

Golf hats/visors may be worn on the course but not in the Clubhouse.
Trousers must not be tucked into socks unless under waterproof trousers.

General:

At all times an acceptable standard of dress befitting the occasion is required. On formal occasions gentlemen are requested to wear jackets and ties.

Juniors 10 years and under are excused the dress rules, but parents are asked to use their discretion at all times.
